Weatherguard Tool Boxes
Weatherguard tool boxes have been around since the sixties, when founder Howard Knaack started making them.
At first he was in just a one room shop, and his only real outlet for them was a tool
distributor owned by some of his partners, the Brock Tool Company. The goal was to come up with jobsite
tool storage boxes that were not just safe and secure, but could stand up to the elements as well.
What makes Weatherguard tool boxes different? They are not just the run of the mill personal tool boxes you
carry around with you from job site to job site. These truck tool boxes mount directly into
the bed of your truck, whether across the back of the cab with ends that open, to boxes that fit on the sides of
your bed, and even rail boxes that fit under your truck bed and slide out to reveal a large and secure tool box.
There are so many different products and accessories that just can't be included here, with new products being
developed all the time. Here are just a few of the many tool box products that are available through
Weatherguard.
Cross Box
Some of the most popular Weatherguard tool boxes are the cross box styles. These
fit across the bed of your truck and the ends sit on top of the bed frame, with the main base sitting on or
just above the bed floor. One of these is the Weatherguard 121-0-01 Aluminum Low Profile Saddle Box with
Armor-Tuf Clear coat. This across the bed tool storage box has a level storage area, large tray, and even
larger main area. It features corner supports, an Extreme Protection Lock System, and the patented Armor-Tuf
coating in clear. It measures fifteen inches high, twenty and a quarter inches wide, and a whopping seventy
and a half inches long, giving you almost nine cubic feet of usable space. This model will fit across most
full size pickups.
For the same price you can also purchase the Weatherguard 121-5-01. This tool box has a black powered coat and
has many of the same features of the above mentioned item, but much more as well. It features a 90 degree opening
top for easy access, drill and crimp free mounting brackets, and a body channel for added strength. In addition, it
also included a full seal against the elements, an automotive latching system for one touch opening, and even 12
volt access for any electrical power systems you need. It is also has the same amount of usable space, but with
more amenities for the same price.
Underbed Storage Box
Weatherguard tool boxes come in a wide selection of under bed boxes as well. These are somewhat cheaper that the
cross boxes, but also smaller. The Weatherguard 532-3-01 Jumbo Underbed Steel storage box in white is one such
model. The aluminum door swings open to a large 19.5," so you can see everything you have stored quickly and take
it out easily. Aircraft quality cables support the door and these can also be removed for a full open position.
These boxes also feature full weather stripping, so the contents are dry even under the most adverse road weather
conditions. These boxes are the most heavy duty aluminum and steel containers available on the market, and designed
for heavy daily use. These under bed tool boxes are ideal for keeping larger power tool equipment safe and out of
the way, and even though they are designed for under the bed, have mounts for above the bed as well. This
particular model sells for just $489.19. These are just two of them any examples of Weatherguard tool boxes. For
large, truck or van tool boxes and chests, the only real competitors are Delta tool boxes, makers of Jobox, and RKI tool boxes.
